GreenHub join discussion: Build public awareness towards sustainable consumption

On July 21, sharing the same goal of raising public awareness towards sustainable consumption, GreenHub had a discussion session with representatives of stakeholders at the exhibition “Green consumption – Healthy life” organized by Viet Nam Competition Commission (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with VTC Digital Television.

At the discussion session, the parties commented: “Businesses have been currently innovating their products to catch up with the trend of sustainable consumption. However, we also estimate that it will take about 5 to 10 years for Vietnamese consumers’ habit of using sustainable products to have a breakthrough.”

So what will be the solutions to promote the current trend of sustainable consumption?

Ms. Tran Thi Hoa, Director of GreenHub, emphasized: “In addition to the support of the policy framework and the development of the roadmap to reduce the habit of using single-use plastic, promoting the Green action in the locality and educating green education for students in schools are very important. We need to change our habits from the most mundane things such as the actions of women carrying their shopping bags or schoolchildren using personal water bottles to limit single-use plastic. Instead of using green products indiscriminately, we need to use them in moderation and in accordance with individual needs.

Under the promotion of the Government, the business sector, community organizations and all wise consumers across the country, GreenHub believes that the trend of sustainable production and consumption will be spread strongly and achieve more success in the coming time.
