TRAINING QUALITY MANAGEMENT PRODUCT TRACEABILITY BASED ON PGS- GREENHUB COOPERATED WITH OXFAM

On 8th May 2019, the training course “Quality management and product traceability under PGS” was conducted by GreenHub in the EFD- Oxfam project’s framework. There were 57 participants who are leaders and officials of 21 small and medium-sized social enterprises particularly in agricultural value chain.

PGS (Participatory Guarantee System) is an internal quality assurance initiative developed since 2004 which is sponsored by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM – Organics International) and currently applied to 66 countries on over the world.

After learning with PGS and digital technology experts, these social enterprises understood the PGS methodology, evaluate the suitability and potential of PGS application in their work. They also had new theoretical experience on using information systems which could support them effectively on agricultural products yields and quality management along the value chain. The survey results show that 80% of enterprises desire to apply PGS system, 65% said that the enterprise now is capable of applying PGS system.

After the training, GreenHub would like to provide on-the-job training for enterprises wishing to establish quality management systems and product traceability, especially the two pioneers.
