Launching “Bac Tu Liem women join hands to prevent plastic waste” contest and training on plastic waste treatment in Bac Tu Liem District

On March 28 morning, the Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub), in collaboration with the Women’s Union of Bac Tu Liem District, organized a training session on trash collection, classification, and organic waste treatment for the local women. The Vice President of the Women’s Union also launched the contest “Bac Tu Liem women join hands to prevent plastic waste” in order to raise their awareness.

At the training session, experts from GreenHub guided the women to identify types of plastic and how to use it safely, to separate waste, and to reduce using it. GreenHub also brought many visual tools and encouraged women representatives of four wards to practice on the spot to practice producing microbial products from EM, practice producing microbial fertilizers from EM solution, and practice producing detergent enzymes.

Moreover, the women in Bac Tu Liem also had the opportunity to experience “refill” Enzyme dishwashing liquid, deodorize with EM, and wash their hands with a solution right on the morning of March 28. At the end of the training session, GreenHub donated to the Women’s Union of Bac Tu Liem district probiotics and a separate composting system for Lien Mac ward. GreenHub hopes to support training and technical companionship on reducing plastic waste with people in Bac Tu Liem district more in the future.

The event is organized within the scope of the project “Local Solutions for Plastic Pollution” (LSPP) sponsored by USAID under the program “Vietnam Local Works for Environmental Health”, implemented by GreenHub and 03 partners (ISPONRE, HUPH-VOHUN, GIMASYS).
