Kick-off and Consultation Conference on the Project Roadmap for Accelerating Socio-Economic Development and Multidimensional Poverty Reduction among Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam in 2020 – 2025

With the goal of accelerating socio-economic development, reducing multidimensional poverty and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in regions and ethnic minority groups, through creating an ecosystem that promotes stakeholders at all levels. In order to identify and test innovative, breakthrough and integrated solutions in implementation, on April 26, in Lao Cai City, the Kick-off and Consultation Conference on the Project Roadmap of the Accelerating Socio-Economic Development and Multidimensional Poverty Reduction among Ethnic Minorities in Vietnam in 2020 – 2025 takes place with the participation of representatives of relevant local units.

The conference introduced innovative approaches to socio-economic development in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam such as the 4M Approach (Meet – Match – Mentor – Move), Institutional Laboratory ( AL), Prognostic, Adaptive, and Agile Administration (AAA) and Active Learning Cycle (ALL). At the same time, the project will also promote growth in breadth (increasing scale, technological innovation, application of 4.0) and in depth (improving product quality along with enhancing brand value).

At the end of the consultation conference, the project selected the area of ​​Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province to conduct the survey, and at the same time determined it should be based on the needs of the units (groups, cooperatives, …). local strengths in the development of industries to choose the appropriate approach and units in line with the project’s roadmap.
