Official plan about unofficial waste collectors

Supported and accepted to implement the project “Empower women in the plastic waste recycling value chain” of the People’s Committee of Phu Yen Province, Centre for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub) and the Phu Yen Women’s Union had a meeting to discuss and reach consensus to develop a plan to coordinate project implementation to improve socio-economic development and promote the participation of informal women waste collectors (bottles, scraps) in reducing plastic waste in particular and domestic solid waste in general in Phu Yen.

After the meeting, the two parties agreed to develop and sign a plan to coordinate the implementation of the project “Empower women in the plastic waste recycling value chain”. In which, training, support and communication activities will be implemented to clarify the role of women waste workers in the community and contribute to the community’s awareness heightening and behaviour change towards garbage segregation and recyclable waste collection practices.

The foundation for project implementation has been established and consolidated with the support and companionship of the locality and promises to have strong impacts in the future.

The activity is organized within the scope of the project “Empower women in the plastic waste recycling value chain” implemented by GreenHub in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen, sponsored by The Incubation Network, coordinated by Second Muse.
